The 20th Edition of the annual national Junior Engineers, Technicians and Scientists (JETS) Exhibition held from 12th to 22nd March, 2017 at CSM Grammar School, Bariga, Lagos State. The programme was organized by the Department of Science Education, Federal Ministry of Education featured secondary school students and primary school pupils from the 36 states of the federation and the FCT. The various states showcased scientific and technological projects during the exhibition. There was also quiz contests for the various categories of the students in different subject areas.

Worthy of mention was the superb performance of Edo State's Samuel Odili, who emerged first position nationwide in the chemistry quiz contest. Samuel is an SS 2 student of Deeper Life High School, Benin Campus. He came first place after a written and oral quiz session of the contest. He was decorated with a medal and given a trophy. The lad also came fourth position in the computer science contest.

The official presentation of the award was held in Benin at the State Ministry of Education. Presenting the award, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry Mrs O. Idahosa, accompanied with directors and senior officers of the ministry, hailed the effort of young Samuel and his school. She encouraged other students to emulate the exemplary conduct of the lad and also work harder to bring more glory to the state in subsequent editions of the competition.

Responding on behalf of the students and the school, the principal Deeper Life High School, Benin Campus, Mr Gabriel Idode, appreciated God and the Edo State Ministry of Education for the opportunity given to them to participate in the events and solicited for more support from the State Government in terms of providing better logistics and welfare for the participating students in such national contests. This he believes will cheer them up to a more improved and resounding performance.

This is again another glaring evidence that Deeper Life High School, Benin Campus is living up to her vision of raising future champions and leaders, who are academically well grounded, morally upright and adequately equipped to compete favourably with their peers, thereby transforming the nation positively.
