DLHS ILORIN

The Principal:

The Principal: Mrs. Lilian Awhana
Deeper life High School Nationwide started in the year 2010 with seven (7) Campuses. Today, there are sixteen (16) campuses all over the nation. Ilorin Campus came on board in the 2010/2011 academic session, on the 9th of October 2011 with thirteen (13) students, comprising of six boys and seven girls to be nurtured tutored and mentored by nine (9) academic and seventeen (17) non- academic staff.

Today God has increased the students population to Seventy-Eight (78) and we trust many more shall pass through this noble campus to bring to pass the Vision and Mission of the school.

Ilorin campus is located along Old Ogbomoso road at Olorunda village, Eyenkorin near Ilorin in Kwara state. The campus officially opened to students on the 9th of October, 2011 (i.e. 2011/2012 session). On this glorious day, the Pastor in charge of Kwara state- the State Overseer- Late Pastor Akinsola in the company of his amiable wife, Regional Overseers, District Pastors, Church workers, members of the Church and other well wishers where on ground to welcome the first set of students to the New School.

The first student to arrive on this opening day was Ademulegun Oluwaseun. Interestingly, Seun as she is fondly called has led this first position in all spheres, of the school life - academics, morals, spiritual and social.

The campus located on an expanse of land, precisely 4.5 hectares. It is situated on a flat land, a naturally cool and calm environment very conducive for learning and surrounded by friendly neighbours - Araromi and Olorunda people. On inception, the campus had nine (9) educators and seventeen (17) "Support" staff to groom, train and nurture her first set of students which were sixteen in number - (seven males and nine females). The pioneer principal was Mr. Ogunlusi Alfred.

The pioneer students are:

1.        Adaje Patience

2.        Ademulegun Oluwaseun

3.        Akpan Kelvin

4.        Ayeni Adesewa

5.        Babatunde Stephen

6.        Ezeala Miracle

7.        Ezeka Godsplan

8.        Jonathan Evans

9.        Idafibia Joyce

10.      Mbachu Praise

11.      Oladele Deborah

12.      Udoffa Paul

13.      Udoffa Peter.

At inception, the school's facility included a block of classrooms for six classes, a kitchen, two hostels, principal's lodge, house master / mistress house - one for each gender. Today, two storey building stand gallantly in the facility, for Girls' Hostel and Boys' Hostel, a state of the art Laboratory block and a modern dining hall.

The second session of the school - 2012 / 2013 began on Saturday 22nd September 2012, with an additional set of students - seven boys and seven girls totaling fourteen (14) bringing the student population to thirty - one.

The school runs curricular and non-curricular activities in line with all other DLHS campuses as well as the National Curriculum of our dear country Nigeria without leaving behind new trends in education globally. Thus she is an e-learning driven school with each student as well as educators ably equipped with personal laptops to facilitate learning and research in different discipline. Her staff are qualified professional educators. Once in a session, educators both old and new embark on an orientation and Training Programme to keep abreast of Technological and scientific advancements as well as to get "New Comers" to know and blend with the norms of the school - DLHS.

Once in a session, Learning Outside the Classroom (LOtc) brings students from different campuses together to familiarize, get to make friends, bond and learn in a very relaxed atmosphere. DLHS Akure Campus hosted the 2015 LOtC edition with Elizade University, Ilara mokin Ondo State as the host venue.

2013/2014 academic session brought the school to her third year of existence. This session opened on Thursday 16th September 2013 with sixteen new students coming into Basic 7 - 9 males and 7 females.

This session was very eventful. On 10th and 11th of July, 2013, a team of inspectors from the Kwara State Ministry of Education, Quality and Assurance Bureau visited the school to carry out Accreditation and inspection.

With the serene environment, qualified professional educators, our up to date modern laboratories, IT supported classrooms and more, the process went smoothly. Precisely, 10th and 11th July, 2013 the campus which has got her government approval before now was accredited to present her candidates for both the National and State Basic Education certificate exam. All stake holders viz DLHS headquarters Lagos, the State Overseer Pastor Adebiyi D.O and his wife, the School's Management Committee (SMC), Educators and the Students played their parts in preparing for these examinations.

To the glory of God, the campus performed creditably. We had 100% success as no student had a re-sit nor failed. Thus a standard was in place for academic performance.

This session, eight of our students participated in a state-wide scholarship examination organized by an NGO - Cymmy Associates. Four of them came out successful. Out of the seven successful candidates in the Junior school category, DLHS had four places. These brilliant candidates were Ademulegun Oluwaseun (JS3), Musa Godwin (JS2), Ezeala Miracle (JSS3) and Omolei Godwin (JSS2). Worthy of note was a JSS1 student Olorunwa Treasure who sat for this examination with several JSS2 and JSS3 students from all over the state and did very well although her score was not up to the "cut-off" mark to earn her the scholarship.

The campus had a second outing in the just concluded session 2014 / 2015. Again, our performance was much better than the previous year. Suffice to say at this junction that DLHS nationwide has a tradition of "Bench marking" results from the different campuses in both internal and external examinations. ILORIN Campus topped the table at this year's NECO BECE Bench marking. Praise the Lord.

By His Grace, we will keep on improving on our academic prowess.

At this juncture, we are bold to say that Ilorin campus is home away from home for your child / ward. And that we are “worth our salt” though we are the smallest population wise.

2015 / 2016 session is now on and we solicit your patronage as vacancies are available in our JSS One class. Our Hostels have got face lifts. Infrastructural development is on-going as well as beautification of the entire facility. Come with your child or ward for a visit to our campus. We assure you of a one-on-one attention from our highly committed staff both academic and non-academic as a result of a sizeable number in each of the classes.

Our school parenting is very effective. In fact we are one big family at Ilorin campus.
