LEARNING OUTSIDE THE CLASSROOM

Learning Outside the Classroom (LOtC) involves learners moving outside their immediate and accustomed environment to learn from first-hand experiences. In Deeper Life High School (DLHS), it was our tradition to conclude each academic session with the LOtC experience.

The first edition of the LOtC took place in University of Legon, Accra, Ghana with the theme “Grooming Exceptional Leaders for a Greater Tomorrow” between July 27th and August 3rd, 2012.

The venues for the second edition were the Deeper Life High School, Calabar Campus and Obudu Mountain Resort, Obudu, all in Cross River State of Nigeria, from July 25th to August 2nd 2013. The theme was “Raising Upright Future Leaders”.

As from the third edition, we started having the programme in two different locations simultaneously because of our increased population. In the year 2015, we had our LOtC at Elizade University, Ilara-Mokin, Ondo State and Benson Idahosa University, Edo State, with the theme “Raising Future Leaders of Distinction”.

In 2016, the fourth edition with theme “Grooming Future Leaders for the Change We Need” was held at Lead City University, Ibadan, Oyo State and Topfaith International School, Mkpatak, Akwa-Ibom State.
